Alexandra, born in Chicago, Illinois, was born an only child to Devon and Trisha Bayne. Her father didn't spend much time at home, leaving Alexandra and her mother to the daily chores and duties.
Due to the fact that her father was barely around, Alexandra assumed the position of 'Man of the House' and did the chores and work Devon would have done, had he been the attentive father he should have been. Alexandra learned things such as: Automotive work and basic construction and carpentry.
While she was going through her schooling, Alexandra met the one known as Virgil Cade. He quickly became frequent and welcomed company. This friendship extended nearly to that of what one would consider a sibling. After middle and most of high school, which was a relatively tough amount of years for Alexandra, despite her friend to help her, she finally got back on top, taking the top position in all of her classes and eventually sending herself to college through scholarship.
College went by relatively quickly for Alexandra, Virgil joining her in most of her classes, as they joined the same fields; however, her mother fell ill not long before her graduation and Alexandra was forced to prolong it in order to care for her mother. At this point in time, her father was nowhere to be seen. Alexandra soon was forced to take her mother to the hospital to be taken care of, as per suggestion of Virgil.
As Alexandra finished her work on her degree, Virgil joining her, finishing his classes by her side, Alexandra was pulled into the company known as Umbrella. The company was large and powerful, not to mention they had employees in the hospital that Alexandra's mother was in. By suggestion, Virgil also joined the Umbrella work force, as a Special Operative. While working with Umbrella, in the Pharmaceutical and Weapons branches, Alexandra had discovered many things that one would find disturbing, and to add onto that, Trisha, her mother, died from some strange virus only a year after Alexandra had joined the company.
Alexandra tried long and hard to try and find a cure to the strange virus her mother had contracted, so that others couldn't get it and die as well, but, she was soon denied means, the corporation telling her she was delving too far. Confused by what the company had told her, Alexandra let it slide, ignoring it for a while, finding it meaningless to try and argue and destroy her good name.
Fortunately, Alexandra left Umbrella before the outbreak of the virus, along with her friend, Virgil. After the incident, she found out that it was the virus her mother had contracted, however, the virus had advanced, and it was no longer just killing. This angered Alexandra, as she soon also discovered she had been part of the team who originated the virus.
Post-incident, Alexandra, with the help of Virgil, delved into the files of the company and found out as much as she could about the virus and its spread. She and he now travel throughout, trying to find out where her mother had been taken and how to destroy the virus, if it was even possible.
